Showcase the finest achievements of French designers in the field of retail internationally

The Institute Français du Design (IFD) is joining the MAPIC Awards, the prestigious competition created to reward the finest retailers and retail real estate projects in the industry, through the creation of a new category: "Best Store Design By French Designers".


Remember that the Latin root commercium means "fellowship": this angle of approach - switching from a transaction-based model to one based on relationship and the art of living, of being able to propose solutions that are not pre-conceived but rather opt for a differentiated observation of the act of exchange - is a good illustration of the founding principles of the excellence of French creativity. A capacity for reinvention that will be celebrated among the MAPIC Awards in the category "Best Store Design By French Designers”.

This event, open to French design agencies and their clients (retailers and brands), will showcase the best achievements (all types of formats: department store, boutique, hypermarket, concept store or flagship) of French designers in the retail field, in France and internationally.

At the end of the pre-selection phase, at the end of September, a jury of experts convened by the Institut Français du Design will unveil its selection, putting the three best projects in the running for the Mapic "Best Store Design By French Designers" awards. A major meeting of professionals will bring together designers from the brands and agencies on the occasion of the announcement of the Nominations.

Eligibility criteria

• Entries are accepted in any format in the field of commercial real estate: department store, boutique, hypermarket, concept store or flagship store.
• Projects must be designed by a collective team (designer & sign/brand). Projects must be located in France and/or abroad. Projects must meet the selection criteria for "Best Store Design By French Designers"
• They must have been created within the past 3 years.
